The Power of 10 Minutes: Small Actions, Big Impact

The Power of 10 Minutes: Small Actions, Big Impact

Can I tell you something that has changed my life?

It’s this: You don’t need hours of free time to create a life you love. You just need 10 minutes at a time.

I know that sounds too simple to be true, but stick with me. Life as a parent is chaotic, we’re juggling schedules, cleaning up multiple messes, and trying to squeeze in time for ourselves in between. It can feel like there’s never enough time to do it all.

But the secret isn’t doing it all. It’s doing something.

And that’s the magic of the 10-Minute Mum Method—it takes the overwhelm out of life and breaks it down into moments you can actually handle.

Why 10 Minutes Works

10 minutes might not seem like much, but there’s something almost magical about it.

  • It’s manageable. You don’t have to carve out hours, you can start right now, even if the kids are napping or playing.
  • It builds momentum. Once you start, you’ll often find yourself wanting to keep going.
  • It’s flexible. Whether it’s journaling, decluttering, or just sitting down with a cup of tea, 10 minutes can be whatever you need it to be.

And here’s the best part: those 10 minutes add up. Over days, weeks, and months, they create real, lasting change, which I absolutely love.

How to Make the Most of Your 10 Minutes

If you’re wondering how to start using the 10 minute formula, here are some ideas to get you going:

1. Focus on One Anchor Action

Pick an area of your life that feels a little chaotic, whether it’s your mindset, your family, or your home, and commit to a single action for 10 minutes.

  • Mindset: Write down three things you’re grateful for, include why you're grateful.
  • Family: Play a quick game with your kids or sit and chat over a snack.
  • Home: Set a timer and tackle that cluttered corner you’ve been avoiding.

2. Use the "Start Anywhere" Rule

Sometimes, the hardest part is just starting. If you’re stuck, remind yourself: “It doesn’t have to be perfect. I just need to start.”

Set a timer, pick a task (any task), and begin. You’ll be surprised how much easier it feels once you’re in motion.

3. Make It Yours

10 minutes can look like whatever you need it to be:

  • A walk around the block to clear your head
  • Journaling your thoughts for clarity
  • Meditating to reset your energy (I love guided meditation)

The key is to choose something that serves you in the moment, whether it’s productive or restorative.

The Ripple Effect of Small Actions

Here’s what I love most about this method: It’s not just about what you accomplish in those 10 minutes. It’s about the confidence and control you gain when you realise you can make progress, even on the busiest days.

Those 10 minutes send a powerful message to yourself: I am capable. I am in control. I can do this.

And as you keep showing up for those small moments, they ripple outward, creating bigger and bigger changes in your life.

Your Turn

Take a moment right now and ask yourself: “What’s one thing I can do in 10 minutes today that will make me feel a little more in control?”

Write it down. Set a timer. And go for it.

When you’re done, come back and tell me what you did, I’d love to celebrate your win with you.

With love and belief in you,
Rebecca
